Social Anxiety and Joy?
It really is possible. As long as you are willing to live with anxiety, you can live with joy. Both of these are normal, adaptive emotions that play an important role in being a human being. When you try to numb out one, you will lose the other. I have lived with Social Anxiety since childhood and through deep research, hard work and the support of skilled professionals I can truly say I have more joy in my life than ever before.
You can live this way too.
I have a vision of getting others to this place. Living with social anxiety AND joy. I do this daily with my clients in my office at Lisa Boland Psychology but I know this isn’t accessible to everyone. I also know the single biggest barrier to accessing help is being able to ask for it - telling your doctor you are struggling and then picking up the phone to make an appointment is a nightmare for those of us with social anxiety!
